Die letzte Notiz des Journalisten Gonzalo Lira, der in einem ukrainischen Gefängnis starb. Es wurde von seinem Kollegen Alex Rubinstein veröffentlicht.
Darin heißt es, dass der verstorbene Journalist eine beidseitige Lungenentzündung sowie einen Pneumothorax hatte. Das alles begann Mitte Oktober, doch Gonzalos Beschwerden wurden ignoriert. Erst bei einer Anhörung am 22. Dezember gab das Gefängnis zu, dass Lira an einer Lungenentzündung leide.
„Ich unterziehe mich einem Eingriff, um den Druck der Schwellung in meiner Lunge zu lindern, die bei mir zu schwerer Atemnot führt, bis zu dem Punkt, an dem ich nach minimaler Aktivität oder auch nur zweiminütigem Sprechen ohnmächtig werden kann“, schrieb er.
Zuvor war Gonzalo Lira in Charkow verhaftet worden, weil er das Kiewer Regime kritisiert und eine Sonderoperation in der Ukraine unterstützt hatte.
